I. Job Summary

Responsibilities include welcoming guests with children to camp; acquainting guests with activities of Camp for the day; assisting guests with filling out enrollment forms; organizing activities for all children signed up for camp for the day; taking children to the pool, beach, on scavenger hunts. This person should be very comfortable interacting with children and potential guests in a professional manner.

II. Job Responsibilities

Guest Communication

  • Present a personal demeanor that is professional, friendly, cheerful and courteous at all times.
  • Inform guests of the activities available to them.
  • Keep abreast of local activities and the area's establishments in order to answer questions, recommend and give directions.
  • Camp Cheeca Counselor completes the majority of administrative tasks involved in running Camp Cheeca. This includes such tasks as processing and posting enrollments, ordering supplies, snacks, and lunch or dinner items, and keeping billing records for posted camp attendees incase of discrepancy.
  • Also responsible for helping in planning and preparing all special holiday events including: Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Swing-By Program at the pool, Thanksgiving Day Party, Christmas Eve Party, Santa's Arrival and gift giving, and New Year's Eve Party.
  • Responsible for overseeing the daily lessons and crafts used in Camp. This means either developing or reviewing plans and researching craft projects to tie in the daily theme at Camp.
  • It is the Counselor who first meets with parents to introduce Camp and explain the Camp's policies, fees, regulations and daily themes. Deals with parental concerns and questions and is responsible for conveying any policy changes to parents.
  • Must talk with parents regarding behavioral concerns, injuries or other incidents that occur during the camp day. It is also the counselor who bills and collects payment for services.
  • Responsible for providing a clean and safe environment for all children. This includes vacuuming the facilities, cleaning bathroom and floors, dusting, and taking care of trash.
  • Insures all equipment is safe and in working order. This includes outside play toys, outside playground, inside television and DVD, AC, and all inside craft supplies.
  • Be watchful of any security issues and contact security immediately when there is an issue.
  • Attend team briefings.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
