Room Service Server

I. Job Summary
The room service attendant graciously and efficiently responds to all room-service requests, ensuring that service is prompt, professional and courteous. This position assists with other serving responsibilities as needed.

II. Job Responsibilities

Guest Service
Greet and make all guests feel welcomed.
Answer phone calls within three rings, with a friendly, professional greeting: "Thank you for calling Room Service. This is (insert your name). How may I help you?"
Attend team briefings.
Ensure that all orders are correctly posted.
Ensure sufficient mise-en-place to facilitate fast expedition of orders, particularly during peak periods.
Ensure that trays and trolleys are removed from corridors, etc.
Ensure that the service of all meals, snacks and beverages is impeccable and in keeping with resort and restaurant standards.
Follow resort procedures for guest room entry and exit.
After taking payment, thank the guest and ask if there is anything else that the guest might want.
Respect the confidentiality of all guests.
Deliver food and beverages to Camp Cheeca.
Assist restaurant servers and bussers as needed.
Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude.
Promote hotel amenities and services to guests using personal knowledge and effective selling techniques.
Welcome and effectively resolve guest questions, issues and complaints with supervisor assistance as needed.

Restaurant Preparation
Maintain sanitation for work area, trays and trolleys according to resort and State Board of Health standards.
Change serving linens as required.
Clean and refill cruet and condiment sets, set trays/trolleys with fresh flowers, place settings and linens.
Check that all items are clean, undamaged and properly positioned.
Polish glassware/silverware.
Deliver bundles of soiled linens to laundry room at end of each shift.

Financial Transactions
Control allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as guest orders are taken and processed.
Post food and drink charges and compute final guest check.
Handle cash, credit card, currency conversions and other financial transactions.
Receive proper payment from guest and ensure accuracy of guest check and method of payment.
Ensure the security of guest payment information.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
